This morning while trying to get some video from an SD card to my computer, I noticed that my card reader was missing from Windows Explorer. It’s always been there in Windows XP and I just noticed since the upgrade to Windows 7 the drive letters for the device are ‘missing’. Actually, Windows 7 does you a favor by hiding empty drives. So after pulling my hair out a bit – here’s the fix:
Open My Computer (Windows + E). Select Tools and then Folder Options. Hit the View tab and uncheck the “Hide empty drives in the Computer folder” option… and voila! your hidden card reader slots are back. I hope this little tip save a bit of your sanity
